Issue Position: Financial Reform

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012

The chief cause of the economic collapse was a failure to regulate Wall Street. The so-called Financial Reform bill did nothing to limit monopolies. We still have banks that are too big to fail. I would break up the big banks and create a level playing field for smaller banks and restore the protections which were removed with the repeal of Glass Steagall in 1999. We need to protect American tax payers from greedy Wall Street gamblers so that we never have to bail out Wall Street ever again. Millions of families have suffered greatly as a result of Wall Street Gamblers. The current bill simply does not provide the kind of protection we need.
